We write for others and we write to inform, we write because we have something to say, we want people to understand our point of view, and we try very hard to communicate that to people. It is not easy to say what's on your heart, and if you have any skill, you feel obligated to put something down just to write something. However, in writing one should have purpose that leads you to write from your heart. A good writer touch's others at their very soul.
It is one heart speaking to another and sharing their lives experiences or that of another or a story which embraces the testimony of life, so we can escape in a moment of time and relate to the universe created by the writer. Why should a person write? If you write, do it for yourself and others will understand how genuine and real you are, and you will be satisfied in what you write.
